Previously, when using computer folders to store images, as image collections grew larger, duplicate image collection situations were frequently encountered. If this problem is left unaddressed, computer storage space will continue to be wasted. Eagle solves this frustration - you just need to enable the "duplicate collection notification feature," and regardless of how many collections you have, when storing images you already possess in the future, the software will actively notify you.
Enable Duplicate Collection Notification Feature
If you want to enable/disable the duplicate collection notification feature, you can handle this in the software's "Preferences." First, open the software's preferences window. Click on the "General Settings" item on the left side and find "Show notification when adding duplicate files."
If you want to enable this feature, check the box; conversely, uncheck it to disable.
Duplicate Notification Feature Description
In the duplicate notification window, we have the following operation options, which we'll explain separately:
- Use existing file
Eagle supports organizing images across multiple folders. Sometimes the images we add may have already been stored and exist in other folders. In this case, we want the image to be successfully imported into the new folder, but we don't want the image to be stored duplicately. In this situation, we can check the "Import using existing file" option to add the image to Eagle in a non-duplicate storage manner. - Keep both
If you want both images to be imported into Eagle without using the existing file, you can check this option. Note that keeping both also means using double the storage space. - Apply all
This option appears when batch adding images. Checking this feature means all subsequent duplicate images will be imported using the same handling method.
