Eagle libraries can be synchronized across multiple computers, allowing you to access your material resources anytime, anywhere. This article introduces three common synchronization methods: using NAS devices, sync tools, or portable hard drives.

Synchronization Methods

NAS Device Synchronization

If you have a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device, such as Synology, you can follow these steps:

Ensure your NAS device supports file sharing and network access functionality
Store the Eagle library folder (.library file) on the NAS
Set appropriate access permissions
Access the same library stored on the NAS from different computers via network

Cloud Sync Tools

You can use cloud storage services (such as Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) to synchronize libraries:

Move the Eagle library (.library folder) from the first computer to the local sync folder of your cloud storage service
Use the file sharing feature of your cloud storage service to share the library folder with the second computer
After accepting the share on the second computer, the library folder will automatically sync to that device
Open this shared library through Eagle on the second computer

Portable Hard Drive Transfer

If you prefer not to use network synchronization, you can manually transfer via portable hard drive:

Copy the Eagle library from the first computer to the portable hard drive
Safely eject the portable hard drive and connect it to the second computer
Open the library on the portable hard drive using Eagle on the second computer

Important Notes

Ensure all computers use the same version of Eagle software to avoid compatibility issues
Pay attention to data security during operations to prevent data loss or corruption
When sharing via network, ensure a secure network environment and regularly check data integrity
Do not modify the same library simultaneously on multiple devices during synchronization to prevent data conflicts
